Creating shopping cart price rules with “Fixed amount discount” and “Fixed amount discount for whole cart”.
Individual significance of the two pricing rules is explained as below:
1. Fixed amount discount:
A fixed amount of discount is applied on each product only when the conditions are reached. Max qty will have significance in deducting the discount amount.

For example :
Order with 3 products the rule will be applied to each product and will get discount on 3 products.
2. Fixed amount discount for whole cart:
A fixed discount amount is applied to complete cart items. This rule will deduct a fixed amount on the sub total of whole cart products. This rule will be applied only when the conditions are reached. Max qty will have significance in deducting the discount amount.
For example :
Order with 3 products the rule will be applied once to whole cart and get discount on subtotal of order .
